A few days ago, deyo did something for me, I don't remember what, that involved some degree of sacrifice, and joedecker was involved . . . I don't remember what it was, just a basic perhaps taking-care-of-one-of-my-responsibilities, or something, and as I drove off with joedecker I had a brief twinge of guilt and thought, "What if he really minds?" Then I remembered that he's always honest about that, that I don't have to wonder if deyo is "just saying" something. If he says it's fine, it's fine.

This afternoon, I not only was fine with him going off to a movie with someone else, I suggested it: "If it's hot, you should go to a movie." I still feel like in heat like this, one of us should be here with the dogs in case power goes out, so we can skip Dodge if we lose the fans, but that doesn't mean we both needed to go. And I don't mind, if I'd minded, I wouldn't have said I didn't, and if I'd said I minded, he wouldn't have gone.

There's the kind of honesty where you can trust your partner isn't stealing from you, or isn't cheating, or whatever. Then there's the kind where you can trust he's not being passive-aggressive. I think this kind is just as important as the other,

Hullo! I'm new to this community, and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Heather, I'm from Utah, and I've just barely turned fifteen. (As of last Thursday)

Also, I just wanted to say that I love this man. XD And seeing as this is an angst-free community, I figured I'd post some lovely quotes I read in a recent U2 magazine I bought last night. I don't know if any of you are U2 fans, but I'm quite admirer of Bono and The Edge. So it'd be great to know if there any members out there with mutual feelings. :D

"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching." - Bono

"To be united, to be one, is a great thing, but to be tolerant, to respect difference, maybe an even greater thing." - Bono

I am obviously new, and I am very glad to be here! I do admit, that my pessimistic side seems to take over me far too often than it should, but I am also a very cheerful person! I do love life, I just don't see the better side of it that much! I do try and keep a smile on my face though, and my head up! I just need a bit more practice, that's all! Well anyway...I am very happy to be here! Talk to you guys soon! :-)

hello. i have a proposition for all interested. email me a list of all of the questions that you have for the american government (my email is all4choice@hotmail.com). feel free to leave your name and age, but it is not that important. i am planning some sort of direct action, and i would like to know what you all want to know so that i can make it my main focus. the number of questions doesn't have a set number, so if you only have a few thats fine, and if you have a bunch thats fine too. i hope you will all participate. thanks.

"Dance, dammit. Humans were meant to dance. Put on some good music and let it guide you, whether in groups or even just by yourself. Since the dawn of our species, we have danced to music beneath the stars; reclaim your humanity and rediscover one of the most primal expressions of the joy of being alive."

It's all in your head, really. If you decide you want to have a wonderful day, you will have a wonderful day. It's all up to you.

I've been having a wonderful week because of this. =)

Hey, I noticed no one really posts much in here. But I decided to anyway.

I've realized over a while that jealousy and bitterness are the two biggest wastes of time. Although of course, it is hard to get over each one, it is well worth the effort.

So what are your ways of dealing with these two resentful emotions? How do you overcome them?

PEACE

I'm not envious of very many people, and when envy crops up, it's often in passing. My life is pretty good.

I'm needing this at the moment. My life's been pretty stressful as of late, and I have not dealt with it in the best of ways, including lots of angst.

However, I'm glad I found this! I have a somewhat similar community (happythings) but we don't get enough lovin'. If you want to join, feel free; no pressure.

As for that, it's a sunny day, so I'm going to shower and go outside. Have a lovely day, everyone!

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened. Don't open the door to the study and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.

Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

(Rumi)

.

My friend makes percussion instruments and we have one; at night, when I'm at home, I like to take it down and play it. Xylophones are good because there are no 'wrong' notes. I was going to recommend his site, but I just looked and they're pretty expensive. However, here's a link about making one yourself: Basic xylophone building. (The colors can be a bit hard on the eyes.)

Attachment
It is because of our attachment to things that we suffer.
By letting go we find that we have not lost anything except our attachment.

~ Sogyal Rinpoche

I used to think that this meant cultivating indifference, now I know better. I can love things intensely and revel in them, but that's not the same as attachment. Detachment recognizes the transience of things, good and bad, and passes no judgement on it. I find it harder to let go of my hurt than anything else. I don't know why. Maybe because it validates my weirdness, I'm not sure. I have to think on it.

Greetings group ^_^

I'm Laura, 21, just graduating college (official graduation ceremony:8 days away!) and doing my very best to keep my positive attitude. When i found this community I thought i'd be a nice way to keep a little joy in my days.

In the spirit of the info on the user page, i thought i'd write a list of things i'm grateful for/that make me happy!
my friends(and family), who continually surprise/amaze me, and make me feel incredibly loved at the most unexpected moments
music, which is my therapy, my sanctuary, and just revives me
the little rubber duck on my desk, that makes me smile every time i look up at it
the pillows my mother made me that are so soft and comfy
birds chirping out my window in the mornings
yummy flavored lip glosses
sunny days when i can just sit outside and feel the warmth and feel completely at peace
the old-fashioned camera my father gave me, and how it feels like i'm somewhere completely new when i'm using it
the rejuvenating feeling of walking on the beach

and:
the fact that right now, as scary as it may seem, my entire life is ahead of me, and its direction is undetermined. and i can do absolutely anything

I hope this follows the spirit of the group, have a beautiful day everyone!

Hi, I just joined. I'm so glad to find a list like this! I have a feeling if I don't find some positive people soon (or at least people who live life for more than just the sake of getting through it) I'm going to run screaming into the desert and become a hermit!!! Anyway, good to be here, and I look forward to talking with you all!
